EGC Encourages Death of Cancer Cells, But Not Healthy Cells

Study description: The effects of the green tea catechin EGC (epigallocatechin) were tested on healthy cells and on breast cancer cells (from cancer cell lines MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231).

What happened: EGC induced "cell suicide" (apoptosis) in the breast cancer cells, but not in the healthy cells.
