Green Tea Extract Reduces Lung Cancer Incidence and
Improves Survival Time
Study description: Lung cancer was deliberately
induced in lab animals via asbestos plus benzo(a)pyrene. Some of the animals
received water containing 2% green tea extract over the course of their lives;
others received plain water.
Type of study: Animal
What happened: On average, the animals
given green tea extract water had a 16% lower incidence of lung cancer,
developed the cancer later, and had a longer survival time than those given water without
the extract.
